#GeneralDisaster prevention drills were conducted
On September 26, 2023 (Tuesday), disaster drills were conducted for the first time in four years following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the guidance of Shimonoseki City Kita Fire Department staff, about 120 people, including students, faculty and staff, and local residents, participated in disaster drills.
On the 4th floor of Building II of the main building, the firefighting team and the evacuation guidance team rushed to the alarm detection site from fire alarm to perform initial firefighting and evacuation guidancefire incident firefighting. In addition, a self-defense fire brigade composed of TUFS staff took on their duties, such as guiding students in the building to the front entrance of the main building I in evacuation site, transporting injured persons and providing first aid measures.
After that, firefighters explained the use of indoor fire hydrants, and as outdoor activities, water discharge training using indoor fire hydrants and fire extinguishing training using water fire extinguishers were conducted.
As a comment from Shimonoseki City Kita Fire Department, although it was well done as a whole, it may not go according to training in actual emergency situations, and when evacuating, put a handkerchief on your mouth and keep a low posture. There was guidance.
