Study Abroad (from Shimonoseki City University to overseas)

Study abroad REAL VOICE

International Commercial Science Saeki Ryuha / Dong-eui University (Korea)

I studied abroad in Dong-eui University in Busan Metropolitan City for 10 months. It was my first time to get on an airplane or go abroad, and I was full of expectations and anxiety.
To conclude, I'm glad I went to study abroad. There are two reasons for that.
The first is that your language skills have improved and that you are confident. Before studying abroad, I didn't study mainly on the desk, so it was very difficult to talk and listen to. In the language hall class, I was the only Japanese, and I had to communicate in Korean, which led to the growth of language skills. The teachers in specialized subjects had a strong accent and were difficult to understand at first, but they became able to hear them when they got used to it. I think it is only for studying in Busan that you can touch the living language unique to the land and learn about the charm. In addition, there are many situations where I can try things that I have never experienced before, so I was confident that I could do something.
What you want to keep in mind is that you can study abroad is up to you. When you go to study abroad, your language skills will grow dramatically and you may have the image that you will change dramatically, but it is yourself that you choose and act. Studying abroad is just a chance to grow yourself, and how much you can take advantage of the given opportunities depends on your actions. If you go to study abroad, you will not always be able to make Korean friends, and your language skills will not improve your skills. There is a lot of free time, and there is no detailed instructions from International Exchange Division, so there are so many parts to decide on your own. If you play with Japanese friends and want to be lazy, you can do as much as you like. If you want to change yourself, I think it's important to remember your goals and ambition and take on the challenge anyway.
The second is that I was blessed with many ties and learned completely different values from myself. There are not only Koreans but also multinational international students in the dormitory, so I was able to touch on various values. Roommates in the second semester were German and sometimes worried about cultural differences, but there were many opportunities to be encouraged, and I feel that it was a catalyst for reconsidering my way of thinking. Also, when I told my Korean friend that I would like to meet him because I was busy during the test week, despite being busy during the test week, he said that it was okay because I always have a schedule.
Because there were few opportunities to interact with local students during the COVID-19 infection disaster, we decided to actively participate if there were any events or invitations. Also, after the exchange meeting, I always contacted my friends and tried not to be on an ad hoc basis.
I think that this study was a good opportunity for me to train myself and gain confidence for me, who had a lot of experience and, above all, wanted to change myself. I passed the TOPIK 6 class, but my ability is still immature, so I would like to continue my best.
Last but not least, thank you very much for those who helped me to consult and support me who have many places where I couldn't reach, and the teacher in charge of Korean classes.

Department of International Commerce Momona Oishi/Busan University of Foreign Studies (Korea)

In the spring of my third year, I went to Busan University of Foreign Studies as an exchange student. When I was in elementary school, I became interested in Korea because I liked K-pop idol, and when I first traveled to Korea, I decided to study abroad in Korea in the future, and entered Shimonoseki City University where I could study in Korea. did.
There were many things in the year of studying abroad. First of all, I was studying abroad in the wake of the COVID-19 infection disaster, so it was difficult to enter Korea and the isolation period was essential. After a week of isolation, when I was able to go out freely, I realized that I had finally come to Korea.
I lived in a student dormitory, my first semester, my roommate was Japanese, and my second semester was Korean. It was my first time to live in a single room with a non-family person, so I was worried at first. In fact, I sometimes struggled due to differences in lifestyle habits, but in Korea, pedal, a culture like Japanese wolf life, was thriving, and I enjoyed eating together in the room and going out. When a Korean in the Japanese language department was a roommate, they spoke in Korean every day and taught each other what they didn't understand.
In the first semester, there were on-demand classes because COVID-19 was still a bit popular, but almost face-to-face classes. When I just went to Korea, I was worried that I could follow the class, so I took a foreign language class focusing on languages. At first, I sometimes felt difficult, but I became accustomed to nature by working on classes while reviewing well. In the second semester, I also took a special class for reciprocating credits. The content of the specialized lesson was difficult and it was difficult to follow, but I managed to do it. After the regulations on corona became loose, various events such as school festivals were held in addition to classes. Before the regular test, donuts and lunch boxes were distributed to each faculty member on a first-come, first-served basis, so I felt a difference from a Japanese university. In addition, since I belonged to the cheerleading club in the circle, many performances were performed both inside and outside the school. I liked dancing from the beginning, so I was worried about joining, but I was able to experience full-fledged cheerleading. All other members were Korean students, but fortunately there were many children who were interested in Japan, and I was able to get acquainted with each other and have fun. It is a good memory that I broke through the qualifying round of a certain tournament and participated in the tournament held in Seoul.
The year of studying abroad seemed to be long, and it was a moment. There were many Japanese international students than I thought, but I could make many Korean friends through events, classes, and circles. Since I came to Korea with great effort, I wanted to get involved with Koreans a lot, and I think it was good that I moved actively. I think that the best way to improve Korean skills is to talk with native Koreans. During the conversation, I was able to learn new words, and the expressions I actually used naturally. In addition to my language skills, living abroad has gained independence more than before, and I feel that I have been able to grow as a single person.
Finally, there were various encounters through this study abroad, and I had a lot of experience, and it was an unforgettable year for me. In the future, I want to make use of this experience in my career and life. And I hope that this experience will help juniors who are thinking about studying abroad in Korea.

Chiya Nakatsubo / Busan University of Foreign Studies (Korea)

To be honest, I was originally interested in studying abroad, but I didn't have a solid goal or purpose like other students.
It was coronavirus, coronavirus that led me to the challenge of studying abroad. Every day in online classes since I entered university. A year has passed without feeling such growth. At that time, I suddenly saw a notice of recruitment of dispatched students. I didn't want to blame COVID-19 for reasons why I didn't challenge or grow, so I saw the notice and decided to apply for a dispatched student in a few days. If you think about it now, it was quite reckless, and I think it was quite reckless. However, at that time, I wanted to change myself than anxiety. What I think now after completing my study abroad is that there was no mistake in my choice at that time.
My life in Korea began, and the first thing that appeared was the language barrier. Of course, I couldn't understand the words I had used so far and I couldn't understand the contents even if the class started, and I couldn't consult because I was only foreigners around. Roommates are also Thai and can't use advanced Korean language, so I couldn't talk well and there was no time to rest honestly until I got used to it, but I couldn't abandon the way of studying abroad I decided, so I tried to interact with various people, such as actively talking and inviting me to play when I could not speak. As I did so, I became accustomed to the language and gradually became able to hear the contents of the lecture and Korean in the town. As I expanded my circle with more people, I was able to interact not only with Korea but also from various countries, and I was able to realize that my horizons were expanding daily. Busan University of Foreign Studies, where I studied abroad, had relatively many Japanese compared to other universities, so I was able to talk to people with various experiences and backgrounds, and to deepen my thoughts while deepening my relationship. This study abroad life was an irreplaceable time in my life, where I was able to visit many places with people, cultures, and many people I couldn't meet just in Japan. I was able to feel many things, such as the expressions and sensibilities of local people who could not feel just by turning the textbook. Even if it was reckless, that little courage I stepped on studying abroad was a great experience and memory. During my study abroad, I lost my wallet and got a lot of unexpected experiences such as getting infected with coronavirus, but I think that I was able to get stronger step by step.
As I mentioned before, what you can get while living abroad is very big. I was able to get a lot of things, such as the scenery I saw with friends and various people who are still in contact. Even like this, I was able to finish studying abroad until the end. Korea is a country where there are many kind people who are culturally close to Japan, so if you are interested, we recommend that you study abroad. Finally, I am really grateful to many people who supported and supported my challenge. Thank you very much.

Department of Economics Murakami, Griffith University Nathan Campus (Australia)

For about half a year from February 2022 to July 2022, I studied abroad at the Nathan campus in Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. It was a very short period of half a year, but it was the most fulfilling and unforgettable half year in my 20 years of life.
At my university, I took three classes on economics. All classes were discussed in a discussion format, where the distance between teachers and students was closer than in Japanese classes, and communication with each other. The student's nationality was diverse, with about 60% of Australians, and the remaining 40% were Indian, Korean, Hong Kong, Chinese, etc. During class, there were so many opportunities to speak, and at first I had a hard time communicating my opinion, but gradually getting used to it. The most memorable thing in class is presentation announcement presentation. Students from Afghanistan and Taiwan and their three of them read a paper on economic growth in Asia and gave presentations in class, and gained the highest evaluation in the class. In addition to being confident in my English proficiency, I was also able to work with people of different nationalities.
I was able to get used to the local life. Brisbane had little trouble because the time difference with Japan was as short as one hour, but there were many supermarkets buying Asian food, so there was little trouble. The only trouble is getting on and off the bus. Unlike Japanese buses, the bus will not stop unless you raise your hand at the bus stop, and there is no announcement such as `` Next is XX '', so if you are going for the first time, press the get off button when you go for the first time I didn't know what to do. Therefore, the first place to go for the first time had to check the current location and the next bus stop one by one.
As for my residence, I lived in a student dormitory in the form of room sharing with Australian and Hong Kong. At first, I was very nervous about the first room share in my life and living with people of different nationalities, but because we had a party together and made pancakes at night and ate together, regardless of nationality I was able to get to know immediately. In addition, after school and on holidays, we played with friends, but we participated in events such as meat-up at least three times a week, and interacted with members of society and students from other universities. I wasn't just the end of participating in the event, but I was trying to take the initiative every day, such as having the goal of talking to more than 10 new people every week and becoming friends.
Finally, if you are studying abroad in the future, you will often have more difficult or disgusting than having fun. Nevertheless, by taking a step forward and continuing to act, I think that you can lead a worthwhile study abroad. Please try and enjoy a lot of things that you can only do at your study abroad. I'm supporting you.

Department of International Commerce Komatsu Mao / Boğaziçi University (Turkey) study abroad

I studied abroad in Boğaziçi University, Turkey from September 2019 to March 2020. Studying abroad ended in an imperfect way of six months, but I was able to spend a very meaningful time.
It was satisfactory to live with Turkish in a relatively minor country as a destination to study abroad. At first it was often puzzled by differences in diet, culture and religions. For example, there is no dashi culture, the time is loose, and the music of prayer is played every day. It was a great pleasure to enter the township and learn to follow the township and live a Turkish life. In college life, I was able to make good friends through classes and club activities. The challenge of playing for the first time in an extracurricular activity in the English class was also a very valuable experience. In order to create a single work, it was necessary to communicate closely. The professor also told me to "break your shell." This instruction was very difficult for me, but by practicing every week, I became able to speak loudly and my gestures grew. I wonder if he succeeded in breaking his shell a little. In addition, I was able to have a very good time in club activities. I joined the art club and experienced sewing and drawing. Through this club activity, I made an irreplaceable friend. On holidays, I visited sightseeing spots in Istanbul on holidays, and on a long vacation, I stayed at my friend's home I met in class for about three days, and received a fierce welcome peculiar to Turkey. Turkey is a country where family ties are very strong, but the big city of Istanbul, seems to have little consciousness, but my friend's parents' home was quite rural, so the connection between the family was very strong. The time to participate in a party called "Gun" where women-only relatives gather and eat delicious rice and sing and dance was the most enjoyable time in Turkey. He also actively interacted with Japanese people residing in Turkey. I don't think there are many opportunities to interact with professionals at Japanese universities, but in this study abroad, I feel that their values have expanded after hearing the stories of those who actually work in Turkey.
What I regret is that I didn't have enough English. I am remorseful that I should have studied English more streakly in preparation for studying abroad. It was very difficult to take specialized lectures in English, even though it was a language class. I still regret my lack of preparation.
It was not just fun. Rather, there were many scenes where I felt it was difficult, but I guess I had a good experience enough to match the difficulties. The friendships and values cultivated in Turkey are my important foundation.

After studying abroad in Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society (Germany), Kotomi Miyata, Department of International Commerce

My dream was to study abroad since I was a junior high school student, and when I entered university, I wanted to go to study abroad. Until the summer of the first year, there were many options for studying abroad, and I was unable to decide which university in which country would be good, but I was interested in the German language I had taken in the second foreign language, and decided to study abroad in Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society.
As the departure date approached, my head was full of anxiety, but I decided to study abroad on my own, so I didn't tell my surroundings at all. When I first arrived in Germany and went to a supermarket, I was shocked by the fact that the name of the product, and purchased only foods that I had seen in Japan while squeezing out the words I knew. Immediately after shopping, the Wi-Fi in the room broke down due to some malfunction, knocked down the room of the international student living next to me, and I was very nervous when interacting with the first international student, but I was happy to use Wi-Fi He lent me. This was the beginning of my study abroad. At first I think everyone is nervous, but I was able to make friends by acting on my own. After that, I went to college with my friends, went on a trip, and did shopping. Thanks to them, my anxiety has gradually decreased from studying abroad.
In college life, I was able to hear English other than specialized subjects without any problems. There are many words that I do not understand the subject where technical terms come out, so I looked up in a dictionary every time to check the meaning of the words. German classes were held in English, and 90-minute classes were two consecutive classes. Every time in the second half, my head was very tired. I was busy on weekdays because there were classes and tasks, but on holidays I was able to travel home parties, neighboring countries and Germany, and had a new experience and refresh. During the test period, I was busy with studying and presenting, so I went to the library to study. During the long vacation after the test period, I went to travel with my friends to distant EU countries and experienced many first. Since Japan is an island nation, the only way to cross the border is boat or airplane, but in the EU, if you get off on a bus, you will already be able to experience such a mysterious experience in a foreign country.
Through studying abroad in Germany, I was not only able to improve my language skills, but also improved mental and communication skills. While studying abroad, there were good things and sad events. I was even more aggressive because I couldn't open the way without calling out to myself and make friends.
There are some things that the world has returned home early in an unprecedented situation, but I was able to broaden my horizons with many experiences that I could not do in Japan and broaden my horizons. I am grateful to all the people who supported me and everyone I met at the study abroad.

Future: Department of International Commerce Kawakami / Algoma University (Canada) Study Abroad

For about 10 months from September 1, 2019 to June 23, 2020, I studied abroad in Algoma University, Sue St. Mary, Ontario, Canada. This study abroad was not just a matter of improving language skills and touching different cultures, but also a study abroad where I was able to grow overcoming difficulties.
Studying abroad started with happening first. I was planning to go to Canada via the United States, and I was upset that I had not applied for an electronic travel permit to enter the U.S.A. just before departure, and I was upset that I could not go to study abroad anymore. did. Fortunately, the application passed quickly, and I left Japan one day late in the uncertainty about the future, but when I arrived at the airport in the town where I studied abroad, my host mother greeted me with a smile and my anxiety disappeared. They lived together with Filipino host mothers, Canadian host Fathers, and several international students from other nationalities. Because I was a student of the same generation, I got along quickly and it was a good opportunity to use English without nervousness. In my diet, my host mother was Asian, and my staple food was rice, so I ate a lot of delicious rice every day. At first I was studying abroad, thinking about what would happen, but I was able to live in a very blessed environment.
The class started about a week after arriving in Canada, the first semester was a language school, and the second semester was an academic course class. The hard work was that all classes were conducted in English, so I couldn't understand the content of the lesson at the beginning, and it was difficult to communicate with classmates of other nationalities. It was difficult to learn English in English, but I was able to learn not only mechanical things like grammar learning in Japan, but also nuances, so I was able to learn very fresh and realistic English. Was. In communicating with my classmates, we deepened our understanding of each other and worked together to address issues. By talking from the same standpoint of learning English, I was able to improve my language skills, but also get along well and learn about each other's culture.
At the event, I was dressed up at university for Halloween, attended a parade in downtown during Christmas and so on, and there were many school events, so I was able to experience Canadian culture. During the week's break in the middle of the semester, I went on a trip to Toronto and Europe with my local friends. Using the language skills I learned while studying abroad in the town where I live and in other countries led to my confidence and growth. Especially when I went on a trip to Europe, there were incidents such as missing suitcases, but I was able to find it safely by continuing to search without giving up. Language is a tool, and I learned that in order to make use of it, it is important to make efforts to convey my thoughts and not to be afraid of communicating.
It was what I learned through studying abroad to challenge and do something more than to improve language skills and experience different cultures.

Sayaka Kambori, Diaboro Valley College (USA) Study AbroadDepartment of International Commerce

The university I studied abroad was a community college called Diablo Valley College (DVC) in California, USA. The size of the university seems to be larger than Shimonoseki City University, but it is medium-sized as an American university. I decided to study abroad this time with the aim of improving language skills practically in English-speaking countries, and going to the local area to deepen their understanding of different cultures.
The classes I attended were Business Communication, Intercultural Communication, Student success, Low-inter University English skills, and Music application. Since I took relatively small subjects, I worked on a lot of group work and presentations. There were many ambitious students who made presentations. The class that was particularly interesting was Intercultural Communication, where there were students from various countries in the class, listening to actual experiences of culture and thinking, and there were many discoveries and surprises.
Classes offered for students studying English as a second foreign language are divided into detailed levels, and you can consult with you about the level of the English class by counseling, and the teacher will be friendly. He will take you. One of the attractions is that you can take various classes because there are various subjects. The age range of students range from the age of 16 to working adults, and both students and teachers come from abroad, and a variety of languages can be heard on the campus.
DVC is about an hour by train from San Francisco and there is no liveliness like a city, but the residential area with the host family I took care of was a safe place to walk at night. It was a 15-minute drive from my homestay to college. There is an apartment where many students live near the university, and if you wish, you can live in an apartment 10 minutes walk from the university if you wish. The nearest station of the university was 15 minutes by car and it was inconvenient without a car, but using Uber was able to spend a comfortable time. After dinner with my host mother, I watched TV together, and on holidays, I went shopping, movies, and plays. San Francisco is a little far away, but I also went around sightseeing spots. During the long vacation, I traveled to Los Angeles with my friends and visited my cousin's house in Alabama to experience Christmas in the United States. During studying abroad, you will be able to greatly improve your English proficiency because you will be able to greatly improve your English skills. There were many encounters, and thanks to that, I was able to meet the options I couldn't imagine before departure. In addition, there is also a depth of culture and a way to look at things that could be discovered only by studying abroad. I don't think everything I gained from studying abroad will be useful immediately, but it was a wonderful experience that had a great impact on the future.

Department of International Commerce Toya Uchiyama / Griffith University (Australia)

From October 2019 to March 2020, I went to Griffith University English School (GELI) in Brisbane. I took a five-week program at GELI. The content of the class varies depending on the level, but basically focuses on improving the four skills (speaking, reading, listening, writing), and mainly from Asian countries such as Japan, China, Korea, and South America such as Colombia and Argentina. People were learning English. I didn't want to be involved with Japanese people, so at the beginning of studying abroad, there were almost no friends, but in participating in events and interacting with classmates, my friends gradually increased and I was able to put myself firmly in the English environment. I was able to do it, and in my life and involvement with them, I was able to improve my English proficiency. However, while I was dissatisfied with the fact that I had to learn a field different from my focus, the difference in English proficiency with others, and the lack of opportunities for conversation with natives, etc. There was also a problem that I had to do something that was not related to the class. Taking classes was just a means, and the real purpose was to improve English proficiency, so I continued to study focusing on that aspect. By going to GELI, I found friends from various countries and regions by going to GELI, and I think that what I gained from being touched on various cultures.
There was no sense of discomfort in local life, so I quickly got used to it. It was relatively close to the downtown, and it was about 300 yen by bus. Brisbane is not as large as Sydney, but I think it is easy to spend many libraries, shopping malls and pubs. There were many beaches around the Gold Coast and the summer was the best. However, the temperature was nearly 40 degrees Celsius and the sun was strong, so midsummer struggled quite a bit. In winter, it is recommended because stars can be seen in the sky and the temperature is not so low. I was a homestay, and my host family was good and comfortable. I was lucky because I heard that some families were good or bad.
The impression was that it was very difficult to improve English proficiency was long, so I always thought about goals, goals, and detailed strategies. There are many people who can't speak English fluently even if they are abroad for one or two years, and I think that the way of growth will differ depending on the person, but I believe that if it continues, it will always grow little by little. There are various ways to study, so it's most important to find a way that suits you.
Overall, I think this study abroad was really worthwhile. As in terms of language, even if the words do not communicate well before that, my thoughts will be conveyed, the importance of making friends and continuing to act to gain some opportunities, the value of challenging for the time being even if you are uneasy. It was the best study abroad that I could know.

Department of International Commerce Shunji Takahashi/After studying abroad in Qingdao University (China).

Before I started studying abroad for half a year from April 2019, I was looking at the experiences and questionnaires of past dispatched students, so I went to Aoshima with great preparation. Because I didn't pick you up, I had a student from Qingdao University, who had been studying abroad in the past, helped me to a certain extent. Regarding the course, I knew that I could only take the number of credits that were not enough in one hand despite paying tuition, but while studying abroad, I was grateful that I could concentrate on my language and sublimated my stress.
To study abroad in Qingdao University only studied Chinese and had no chance to interact with Chinese. That's why we have no choice but to create opportunities on our own. In the case of Japanese students who have no Chinese friends, the words they were talking about were limited to Chinese for international students. I was able to learn the expressions used in everyday conversations because I was friendly with Japanese students in Qingdao University. Since I didn't make Japanese friends, there were many scenes that used Chinese.
There were quite a lot of opportunities to use English in Aoshima. That's because roommate was an Australian who could not speak Chinese. You can't change your roommate in Qingdao University, and you can't speak Chinese to some extent. I wanted to use Chinese in my room, but my roommate's Chinese did not improve at all, and we talked in English until the end. Thanks to that, I was able to improve my English. People outside Asia were basically able to speak English, so they were separated from Asian groups and European groups. At that time, I saw the difference in customs. Many people cheated during the test because they were not good at writing kanji, so many people cheating during the test, so I felt that it would be better for the director teacher to be as strict as during the test. I tried to eat and drink during class. At first there was a sense of guilt, but I became accustomed to this habit. To be honest, I didn't think it would be inconvenient to get used to different cultures.
During the six months of studying abroad, both good and bad, exciting days. Even if I didn't go to study abroad, I saw Chinese people who fluent Japanese and trilingual, people who studied abroad for travel purposes, and various people, and made it my own life teaching material. Naturally, studying abroad increased my willingness to study Chinese, and I was convinced that if I could not do English at a minimum, I would not be able to work in the world. Since I spent half a year in language, it is my duty to master some extent. Since I studied abroad in the second grade, I have two years left in university life, so I aim to become a valuable person in the world.

After studying abroad in Department of International Commerce Ikuna Maeyama / Ming Chuan University (Taiwan).

I studied abroad in Ming Chuan University, Taiwan for about seven months from September 2019. Originally, I wanted to study abroad vaguely someday, but after entering university, I decided to study abroad because I chose Chinese in the first foreign language and deepened my interest and decided to study abroad to have an experience that I could not do in Japan. The reason I chose Taiwan as a study abroad destination was that the impression I felt when I visited Taiwan was really good.
Ming Chuan University has several campuses and is mainly divided into Taoyuan and Taipei. I belonged to the Department of Foreign Affairs of the International Academy and basically took classes at the Taoyuan Campus. Exchange students were able to freely take classes for all subjects and grades of the university without any restrictions such as subjects, so I took economic subjects and liberal arts subjects in consideration of unit exchange. There were many opportunities to interact with local students in order to take classes that local students actually took classes that local students were taking. I also took a Chinese class at the language center for a fee. The language center class was held on the campus of Taipei, so I took about an hour by school bus to go from Taoyuan to Taipei. Paid classes are offered by a small number of people according to the level, so there were many opportunities to speak Chinese and it was very good. In the class, there were many presentations and asked for their ability to act and aggressiveness, and it was a puzzled at first, but it was a good experience. Students in the Japanese language department found time, and volunteer students also taught Chinese one-on-one.
Taiwanese Chinese has a little accent, the pronunciation is a little different from the standard language I learned, there are words that are not used in Mainland China, and there are some points that the speaking speed is a little faster. However, the basic grammar was the same and I got used to it over time. At the language center, I used simplified to teach the differences between standard languages and Taiwan Chinese. It was fun to learn the difference. What I regretted was that I should have studied a little more English. In Taiwan, I thought it would be nice to use Chinese, but in fact, I felt that there were many opportunities to miss English when I had classes and interacted with international students from other countries.
Looking back on my study abroad life, the people I met in Taiwan were really kind and kind, and always helped me, so it was a difficult time, but it was a really fun time. What gained from this study abroad will be the greatest asset in my future life, such as not only language but also Taiwanese culture, customs, lifestyle, etc., and meeting many people will be the greatest asset in my future life Was. I feel that there were many parts that grew up. From now on, I would like to do my best to make use of what I have experienced in studying abroad. Finally, I am grateful to all those who supported me for studying abroad and everyone I met while studying abroad. Thank you very much.

Department of International Commerce Murata Haruka / Dong-eui University (Korea) Study Abroad

I studied abroad in Dong-eui University in Busan for about 10 months from March 2019. Studying abroad was one of the goals of college students, so expectations for a new life were greater than anxiety.
In the first semester, I went to the language hall every day. There were international students from various countries, and when I entered the classroom for the first time, I felt very strange. My class was mostly Vietnamese, and there were some international students from China and Taiwan. All classes were conducted in Korean, so the class was only in the morning, but I was desperate to keep up every day and my head was tired and sleeping early. As I gradually became able to hear the contents of the lesson, I became able to afford a little more, and the content I talked during the conversation class, and began to talk various things during breaks. Our class is very close and full of good memories, learning each other's language, and going to eat together on the day of the completion ceremony. In the second half of the class, I took it mainly for unit exchange. Classes in specialized subjects were very difficult, and it was very difficult because the course progressed according to the local students. However, with the support of teachers and local students, I was able to complete the tasks, presentations, and tests. In addition, all the classes I took in the second semester had a presentation assignment. In Japan, we had made presentations using a powerpo, but the presentation method, content, and questions and answers by local students were all high levels, and I was surprised and learned attitude toward presentation and improved my ability.
In addition to classes, I participated in many programs aimed at international students. Busan has a lot of sightseeing spots and a lot of transportation, so you can go to cultural experiences in Gyeongju near Busan, sightseeing spots, drama shooting locations, experience traditional Korean rice cake making etc. It was very fun to talk with the same international student and Korean tutors.
I think that I was able to have a lot of experience through studying abroad for about 10 months because I had met people. I met the most people in my life, including international exchange team teachers, university professors, Korean friends, tutors, international student friends, and Japanese friends I met while studying abroad, I met the most people in my life. It was 10 months when I learned. In particular, there were times when I couldn't say what I wanted to say and sometimes it was difficult to communicate with each other because the common language was Korean. I thought I had to do my best to study Korean more each time, so I promised to study Korean until the day I met again. I didn't think it was painful while studying abroad, and it was a quick study abroad. I am very grateful to my family and International Exchange Center for watching over my study abroad in Korea. From now on, I decided to use my knowledge and experience gained through studying abroad as my strength.

Yuri Kaya Department of International Commerce / Busan University of Foreign Studies (South Korea)

I studied abroad in Busan University of Foreign Studies for 10 months from March 2020. Originally, I was interested in foreign languages and wanted to learn a bit different Korean in Busan, which uses dialects. At the end of February, COVID-19 infection was beginning to become popular in both Japan and Korea, and I was worried about canceling or returning home on the way.
Due to the influence of COVID-19 infection, classes were submitted using a dedicated application online, and at ZOOM. At first, I wanted to go to school and I was dissatisfied with the online class, but the teacher also answered questions by e-mail quickly and carefully, and because of the time was flexible, I took classes while preparing graduation papers and job hunting. After getting used to it, I came to think that online classes were good. I was worried that I could not make friends because I didn't have the opportunity to meet each other in the classroom, but I went to play with a friend who became the same group in the online class after starting the face-to-face class, I made friends naturally I'm done.
I learned three things while spending time with my friends made at this time. The first is to make your opinion clear and language when communicating, and convey your thoughts honestly without using ambiguous words. If you use only words that you know, "I'm speaking in a foreign language, the other person will understand a little." I chose and used it. The second is to look at the person regardless of nationality or race. Because my native language was different, I sometimes felt uncomfortable with the other person's words, but I changed it in another word until I was convinced without leaving the discomfort as it was. I abandoned the prejudice of "because I'm a XX person" and conscious of seeing and listening carefully what the person in front of me wanted to say. The third is to thank my family, teachers and friends who support me, but also acknowledge my hard work. This study abroad was done with the help of many people. I evaluated the words of appreciation, what I gained from studying abroad, and what I worked seriously were evaluated in a life-size and wrote it in a notebook. I wrote a letter to my friend before returning to Japan, but I think I was able to convey all the gratitude I wanted to convey. I'm still growing up, but I was able to maintain my motivation for the next step by recognizing myself who grew up compared to before.
It was a difficult time to study abroad in the wake of COVID-19, but that's why I was able to face myself and there were many things to gain.
I would like to thank all the people who were involved.

Department of Economics Yamada Akiyoi / Mokpo National University (Korea)

From March to December, I studied abroad in Mokpo National University in Kanan-gun for about 10 months. In this study abroad, I was able to experience various things, and it became a memorable thing for a lifetime, and what I gained a lot throughout the last 10 months have become an important asset.
First of all, the language skills that grew overwhelmingly during this period. All communication during studying abroad had to be done in Korean, and when I had a lack of language skills, and when I first went to Korea, it was very difficult. I was very disappointed that I couldn't understand the other person's words when I talked to my friends, and at the same time I was very sorry. With that in mind, I studied Korean every day for two months since I went to Korea, and gained language skills that would not interfere with conversations with friends and teachers. I thought that the fastest way to improve Korean was to talk with Koreans. In the subject I studied abroad, the Japanese were forced to speak Korean. I think that such an environment was the factor that improved my language skills in a short period of time.
Secondly, I gained a lot of knowledge about the Korean economy. Originally, I was interested in the Korean economy, so I decided to go to Korea and learn about Korea's economy with my own eyes. By studying abroad in Department of Economics and taking various classes, I gained a lot of knowledge about the Korean economy. In class, it was a very valuable experience that could only be done by studying abroad, such as going out to the suburbs and visiting companies and visiting companies and visiting.
Finally, I made a lot of friends to help me. As I mentioned above, the subject I studied abroad was one Japanese, and it seems unusual for Japanese to come to that subject to study abroad. There were many friends who called out each time. I actively went to a group of departments and talked a lot about Japan and Korea while drinking alcohol. The seniors and friends who got along there helped me a lot outside of school life and school. He gave me a lot of information about what I didn't understand during class and issues, such as which shops are better. At the time of the test, I thought that I was able to meet my friends who could kindly tell me in detail, such as studying here or going to the test here. When I left Kinoura after studying abroad, my seniors and friends from the department gathered for me and held a farewell party. It was a surprise party, so I was very impressed. My best memory is to meet a friend who spends time for me.
