Consumer cooperatives
Co-op is a cooperative that organizes and operates students and faculty members living at universities to share investment. Members not only use co-ops, but also participate directly in their operations. At the cafeteria on the 1st floor of Student Welfare Hall and the Purchasing Department on the 2nd floor, members of the "word card" have been improving one after another.
At the "Welcome Gathering for New Students", which is held mainly by the Co-op Student Committee, many new students say, "I made friends" and "I understood the state of university life." We are also actively introducing homes for new students. In addition, we are engaged in planning to consider health and safety, such as alcohol patch tests, body fat percentage measurement, dietary consultation, and blood donation.
You may encounter unexpected disasters while attending school, such as hospitalization or hospital visits due to an accident or illness, a fire or disaster in a boarding house. The Co-op has called for participation in the “Student Comprehensive Mutual Aid” in which a mutual aid is paid in such a case, and 95% of the union members have joined this.
In the co-op Internet provider business, access points have been set up in Shimonoseki, making it easy to purchase Japanese books, Western books, CDs, stationery, PC software, etc. through Internet shopping.
