What is reasonable accommodation?

Based on the "Act on the Promotion of Elimination of Discrimination Due to Disability", those who need attention will be willing to take some action to remove barriers (social barriers) in society. When notified, respond within a range where the burden is not too heavy.

Reasonable accommodation at universities refer to the necessary and appropriate changes and adjustments made by universities, etc. to ensure that students with disabilities enjoy and exercise their "right to receive education" equally with others. It is necessary individually when receiving education at universities, etc., and does not impose a loss or excessive burden (hereinafter referred to as excessive burden) in terms of system and financial aspects.

What is the target "person who needs consideration"?

Persons with physical, intellectual, mental or mental disorders (including developmental disorders) or other mental and physical dysfunctions, who are continuously subject to considerable restrictions on daily or social life due to social barriers, etc., and all other activities conducted by the University.

About application of reasonable accommodation

The application for reasonable accommodation begins upon request from the student himself. In addition, what kind of consideration can be given depends on the symptoms and conditions of each disability or illness. Therefore, in principle, it is necessary to submit a certificate of disability, medical certificate, test result, etc. in order to apply for consideration.
