On April 25 (Tuesday), an open lecture “Applied Microeconomics” was opened at Civic University.
There are several styles of open lectures at our university, among which "Applied Microeconomics" is in the form of "Open Classes". This means that regular classes offered at the university will be opened in the form of open lectures, and citizens who have applied for the course will be taken together with the students of the university.
This time, one student applied for the third class of applied microeconomics, and took a class on the theme of "opportunity cost".
The students worked with the students on group work-centered classes and actively participated.
This year, we have a lineup of five courses during the spring semester, with a lineup of five courses offered by the public. For details, please refer to the website of the University of Tokyo Open Lecture.
The contents of the open lecture for the fall semester will also be announced on this website.

I am very pleased that we were able to offer an open lecture, which was only online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face-to-face for the first time in four years. In the future, we aim to be a university that can provide a place for learning to citizens.
