Shimonoseki City University Circle "Japan Heritage Search Q Meeting" participated in a community development event on Rokuren Island in Shimonoseki City

On November 3, 2018 (Saturday), 11 members of the Shimonoseki City University Japan Heritage Exploration Q Meeting, 4 first-year students who wished from the basic exercises in charge of the advisor, and 1 faculty member of the circle adviser participated in community development-related events held on Rokuren Island and helped.
First, in the morning, there was a commemorative ceremony such as the unveiling ceremony of the signboard (installation) explaining that the Rokurenjima Lighthouse, organized by the Moji Coast Guard, is one of the cultural properties of the Japanese heritage "Kanmon nostalgic Strait". One of the circle members was a member of the Kanmon Straits Japan Heritage Council and participated in the unveiling ceremony as one of the guests. Other circle members saw the brave figure and also toured the lighthouse, which was open to the public for the first time in six years.
For lunch, the women's club of the residents' association made hijiki rice and everyone enjoyed it. A lot of sazae pot grills were also baked deliciously for the students. Thank you very much for your feast.
From 1:00 pm, there was a concert by a citizen choir held at the request of the Rokurenjima Residents' Association at the fishing village center in front of the port, and many tourists participated. At the same time, the Japan Heritage Exploration Q Meeting had been thinking about some kind of help and activities, and did the following:
From 2:30 pm, we were divided into a carta tournament group and a Shimauchi walking group. First, after the concert, the Carta tournament group held a carta tournament on the same floor with "Kanmon nostalgic" Strait Karta (downloadable from the following website) handmade by circle members. A lot of children on the island came and it was very exciting, and in response to the encore, we performed up to the third round. The students were pleased to see what they made and enjoyed playing.
The Shimauchi walking group called on tourists, including the participants of the concert, gave directions to those who wished to walk around the island, and took just one hour around the island around the lighthouse, basalt, Flower House, Saikyoji Temple, and Rokurenjima Hachimangu Shrine. One of the tour participants gave me words of appreciation that the students' guidance was kind and fun. The students seemed relieved to be able to guide them without hesitation.
The staff of the Shimonoseki City Board of Education Cultural Property Protection Division is also participating this time, and the guide map of Rokurenjima completed in the summer in the circle "Shimonoseki" Growth "Story Vol.2-I want to convey the charm of Rokurenjima! He made a panel for this day, and exhibited it in front of the fishing village center. Thank you very much. This map is proposed by Mr. Rokurenjima Self-Government Chairman, and is also printed in color at the waiting area at Takezaki Port on the mainland of Shimonoseki and at the waiting area at Rokurenjima Port. The students surveyed and fieldwork on their own, and a map summarizing the "somethings" of Rokuren Island and the attractions of the region is useful for tourists visiting the port and residents of the island to see it. That's a little proud and happy.
Behind the map panel, I also posted more than a dozen posters created by the students. These are the students visited the island many times so far, picked up from the photos they had taken each time, shared by several people, and each photo contains the `` words '' that each student thought. It contains. As a teacher, I say, the photos and the words attached are wonderful things that make use of the fresh taste of young students. The members of the Rokurenjima Residents' Association will re-post these posters on the second floor of the fishing village center, and will continue to post them for a while.
In addition, the four first-year students who wished from the basic exercise of the university, who visited the island for the first time, walked a little on the island with the guidance of the circle members, touched on a part of the charm of Rokuren Island and enjoyed it. I think the number of fans of Rokurenjima has increased a little further.
On the way home, the residents' association gave a lot of wonderful flowers to the circle members again this time. The students once again touched on the kindness of the islanders and said, "I love Rokuren Island!" "The more I go, the more I want to go! It's a wonderful island that you can think of. "
I was very grateful to the people of Rokuren Island for the survey and fieldwork. Thanks to you, the students of the circle were able to teach and learn a lot from the islanders that they could never learn in the university alone, and had a fun and valuable experience. Thank you very much to all the people of the island.
In addition, a part of what the students felt through this Rokurenjima fieldwork was posted on the website of the Japan Heritage Exploration Q Meeting (November 5, 2018, "I participated in the Rokurenjima Concert!" I'm introducing it. Please take a look (https://shidai-nikkyu.amebaownd.com/posts/5129328).
