On the evening of July 20, 2018 (Friday), 10 members of Shimonoseki City University's Japan Heritage Q Q Meeting and 1 faculty member of the university's "Kanmon nostalgic Strait" were introduced to the students of Rokunoren Island who had taken care of them with many teaching and consideration. A briefing session was held on the island's good times as seen from university students. . Two staff members also came from the Shimonoseki City Board of Education Cultural Property Protection Division, who linked the Rokuren Island and the Japan Heritage Exploration Q Meeting. .
At the meeting place on the island right in front of the port, while showing the printed materials of the completed pamphlet, the students presented their explanations and ideas for about 20 minutes, and then had a Q & A session for about 40 minutes. Was. The islanders and staff of the City Board of Education gave us many opinions and advice, as well as what students did not notice and corrections when making pamphlets. The students seemed to think they had to make corrections and improvements to reflect them in order to create a truly completed version.
After the debriefing session, everyone on the island prepares a barbecue, bake and eats sazae, abalone, meat, etc., as well as rice balls of Rokurenjima's specialty `` Hijiki rice '', boiled dishes of handmade islands, etc. We also served and exchanged and chatted with each other. Some of the students were eating sazae for the first time, and I was impressed by the island's unique treat anyway. Thank you very much for your feast.
After the exchange meeting, we walked on the night road with a flashlight to take a picture of the night view seen from Rokuren Island in the pamphlet, guided by the island, and headed to the hill. Upon arrival, there was a night view that could be seen not only by Shimonoseki but also by Kitakyusyu, and the students fell in love with the glittering night view and cheered. It seems that not only camera shutters but also "heart shutters" were pressed a lot.
Returning to the meetinghouse, the students visited the island many times for fieldwork and surveys to create the pamphlet, and thanked the many cooperation, consideration and kindness received from the islanders. Was. And everyone took a commemorative photo.
Thank you very much to everyone on the island! !
The students seem to want to continue to value this connection and get involved in Rokuren Island in some way.
The circle will eventually complete the pamphlet by the end of July. In addition, at island events such as the tour of the Rokurenjima Lighthouse scheduled for November 3, we hope to help create some kind of community.
In addition, a part of what the students felt through a series of Rokurenjima fieldwork was introduced on the website of the Japan Heritage Exploration Q Meeting (July 23, 2018, "Education Postscript-Let's Make a Rokurenjima Pamphlet-"). doing. Please take a look at it (https://shidai-nikkyu.amebaownd.com/posts/4596521).
