Current research themes

Set in Western Europe in the late Middle Ages, the main research theme has been urban history, handicraft history, and modern nation formation history. In particular, in recent years, the focus has been on investigating the germination of modern nations based on the relationship between cities and feudal nationals, with the Nederland cities and the Bourgogne nations as specific targets.

Expert Exercise "World History Seen from Things"

Basic Exercise "History of European Integration"

In specialized exercises, we aim to understand a part of world system theory by reading literature on world products under the framework of "world history of things".

In the basic exercises, students will learn how to study at university, write reports, and write papers, with the main theme of "Technology of Intellectual Production". In addition, we will give an overview of the "European Integration Process" through reading texts.
