Candidacy for the mock mayoral election

On December 14, three students from TUFS participated in the "Simulated Mayoral Election" held at Shimonoseki International High School.

This mock election was a plan of an on-site class hosted by the Shimonoseki City Election Commission to improve the turnout of young people. . Ayaka Ishida, Shiori Fukunaga, and Akane Hoshino (both 3rd year in Department of Economics), who participated as mayor candidates, were asked for a candidate role because they investigated through the city selection pipe when writing a sweepstakessis on the theme of elections. Based on the given theme, the three made commitments as mayor, such as measures against corona and welfare.

On the day, in front of about 80 third-year high school students, three candidates for the mayor announced their commitments, and then high school students voted using a real ballot box. When the voting was over, the ballot was immediately voted and the voting results were announced.

The three said that they would like to incorporate this experience into the paper and further enhance the content.
