[Japan Student Services Organization Scholarship] Emergency response to students affected by COVID-19 infection

We would like to inform you of the following matters.
Students who meet the following requirements and wish to use the system should consult with the Student Support Group in advance and complete the procedure by the deadline. All of the systems introduced this time are loan-type scholarships, so you will be required to return them after graduation.

※If you are interested, please contact the Student Support Team as soon as possible to confirm that the requirements of the desired system are met.

                  Description

1.Extended loan period for Class 2 scholarships (for students of the highest grade) 

◆Requirements (persons who meet all of the following ➀ to ➂)
 ➀Those who have received a Type 2 scholarship loan in the highest grade in 2020
 ➁Those who are forced to attend school beyond the standard period of study due to the cancellation of job offer or the inability to decide where to work due to the expansion of COVID-19 infection
 ➂President recognizes the need for extending the enrollment period beyond the expected graduation period and lending scholarships

◆Submission deadline: Monday, January 4, 2021 17:00

◆Extended period: Up to one year extension

2.Continued loan of Class 2 scholarships (for students who are absent from school) 

◆Requirements (persons who meet all of the following ➀ to ➂)
 ➀Those who have received a Type 2 Scholarship Loan in FY2020
 ➁Taking advantage of the expansion of the COVID-19 infection, those who take a leave of absence during FY2020 and participate in volunteer activities (double-track learning)
 ➂➁Those who acknowledge that their activities during their leave of absence are meaningful, such as "social contribution activities," "plus in major fields," and "helping the development of their own human beings," and President recognizes the need for scholarship loans.

◆Submission deadline: Monday, January 4, 2021 17:00

◆Lending period: Up to one year from the month of commencement of activities during the leave period

3.New loan of Type 2 scholarships (for students who are absent from school) 

◆Requirements (persons who meet all of the following ➀ to ➃)
 ➀Meet the criteria for Class 2 scholarships (person, academic ability, household budget)
 ➁Have not received a Type 2 scholarship loan at the time of recommendation
 ➂Taking advantage of the expansion of the COVID-19 infection, students who took leave of absence during FY2020 and participated in volunteer activities (double-track learning).
 ➃Those who acknowledge that their activities during the leave of absence are meaningful, such as "social contribution activities," "plus in major fields," and "helping the development of their own human beings," and President recognizes the need for scholarship loans.

◆Submission deadline: Wednesday, December 23, 2020 17:00

◆Lending period: Up to one year from the month of commencement of activities during the leave period

4.Recruitment of emergency interest-free loan type scholarships 

◆Requirements (persons who meet all of the following ➀ to 5)
 ➀Meet the criteria for Class 2 scholarships (person, academic ability, household budget)
 ➁Have not received a Type 2 scholarship loan at the time of recommendation
 ➂Have not received a large amount of remittance from home (the amount of remittance is not more than 1.5 million yen per year)
 ➃High proportion of part-time job income to living expenses and tuition expenses
 ➄Part-time income of students decreased significantly due to the impact of the expansion of COVID-19 infection (more than 50% less than before the expansion of COVID-19 infection).
