#Open LecturesCitizen's University Open Lecture "Eiichi Shibusawa I Want to Know Now" has started
On December 15 (Tuesday), an online lecture titled "Eiichi Shibusawa I Want to Know Now: Follow the Footprints of the Father of Japanese Capitalism" was held online.
Associate Professor Hitonobu Mikana of Department of International Commerce Faculty of Economics gave a lecture on activities and ideas about Eiichi Shibusawa. Based on his latest research results, he explained the new face of the new 10,000 yen bill in 2024 and Eiichi Shibusawa, which has been renewed as the main character of Taiga drama series next year, mainly from an economic history perspective. The event was held online using Zoom, and the students listened very enthusiastically. Mr. Eiichi Shibusawa gave a careful explanation while giving specific details on the various things involved, and not only talked unilaterally, but also had a time for questions and answers.
This was the last public lecture in 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic this year, we were able to postpone the spring semester course to the fall semester and change it to an online course. Although it was not perfect, I think everyone who took the course had a different experience than the face-to-face course. We plan to hold open lectures in any form next year. We look forward to your participation.
