#Open Lectures

Citizen's University Open Lecture "Sociology of People and Wildlife" has been launched.

On November 18th (Wednesday), a public lecture at Civic University, "Sociology of People and Wildlife: Cases of Damage to Birds and Animals in Contemporary Rural Villages" was held online.

Junko Fukumoto, a specially appointed faculty member of Faculty of Economics University, gave a lecture on Japan, where the relationship between people and wildlife has changed and the damage caused by birds and beasts has become serious. The lecture was given by the early modern era Japan unraveling the history of wildlife and giving specific examples of how people living in rural areas are dealing with bird and animal damage. Although it was an online event using Zoom, I was able to give a lecture in a cozy atmosphere. The students were eager to listen. It was very fruitful, not only to talk unilaterally, but also to have a question and answer time.
