#GeneralThe Student FD Committee conducted a welcome fieldwork for new students.
On April 7 (Sun), the Student FD Committee held a welcome fieldwork for new students as part of the original class. A preview was held in February, and then budgets and routes were examined. As a result, we decided to review the destination and route and walk around the Karato area (guided by Associate Professor Yuya Sato).
After gathering at the university, move by route bus, start and end of the former Sanyo Expressway, starting from Yamagin Historical Museum-Nanbucho Post Office, Former Akita Shokai Building-former Shimonoseki U.K. Consulate-K Karato-Hikiji-Li Koshomichi-Nisshin Kowa Memorial Hall-Akama Jingu Shrine I walked on the route. New students who participated commented, "I enjoyed finding good places in Shimonoseki," "I was glad to actually learn about the history of Shimonoseki on foot," and "I made new friends." Through this fieldwork, it seems that we were able to know a part of Shimonoseki, which flourished as a major transportation hub. Thank you to everyone at the Yamagin Archives for their cooperation.
Also, during lunch at Karato-ichiba, a person who was eating next to me gave me rice balls and fried eggs. I think this kind of interaction with various people is the real pleasure of fieldwork. Thank you very much, it was delicious.
I would like new students to experience a lot of things in the four years of studying at Shimonoseki City University. Go to various places, talk to people, read difficult books, and take lectures.
