Current research themes
I have been conducting research that leads to bridging research and personalized treatment, focusing on statistical and data science methods, especially on the application of gastrointestinal cancer research and statistical consulting of medical research, including clinical trials. Taking advantage of our experience and network in joint research with medical, research institutes, IT/pharmaceutical companies, etc., we promote research toward the theory culture.
In addition, we participate in the Life Intelligence Consortium (LINC)* and conduct research activities by industry, academia and government as a representative and sharer of joint research such as "building a digital health data infrastructure nationwide", "individualization of medication/nutrition guidance", "cost-effective analysis of treatment using natural language processing", and "efficiency of clinical trials".
*The All Japan Consortium was established in November 2016 by Kyoto University, RIKEN, Pharmaceutical Infrastructure, Health and Nutrition Research Institute, etc., with the aim of developing AI and big data in the life sciences related to pharmaceutical, chemical, food, medical, and healthcare.

Class seminar
My seminar
Understanding phenomena, solving problems, and creating value through the approach of data science (data science)
・We value the colleagues in the laboratory.
・You can clearly explain your research topic and your research plan in your own words.
・You can engage in research independently.
・You can understand and evaluate other people's research.
・Develop the ability to explain in an easy-to-understand manner to non-specialists in the field.
・Students acquire the ability from finding and solving problems from the perspective of data science.
While valuing importance, everyone is working hard toward empirical graduation research on understanding phenomena, solving problems, and creating value through data design (planning), collection, and analysis using the approach of data science (data science).
We will provide guidance on "human resource development who can think of research from a statistical and data science perspective", "basic research on statistical and data science methods", and "application research that can be utilized in the fields of natural and humanities and social sciences".
