Current research theme

Conduct research on the whaling industry, whale culture, fisheries history, etc. from Shimonoseki, a city of whales, etc. through primary materials and interviews with stakeholders, and how whales can be linked to regional development in Shimonoseki. The research theme is. Currently, we are working on industry-academia-based demonstration projects that make effective use of unused whale sites (residues) and lead to new commercialization, and we are developing and selling new products that utilize the results in seminars. We are also working on research and research on the history of fisheries in Shimonoseki after the war, project activities to spread whale food to younger generations, and activities to spread the history and culture of whaling by utilizing historical materials held by TUFS.
