Special Needs Education Vocational Course held class experience sessions (open lectures)

 On June 24 (Saturday), Professor Yoji Kanehara, Director of the Department of Pediatrics, gave a lecture entitled "Understanding and Relationship with Children of Interest" as one of the public lectures at the University of Tokyo's Special Needs Education Vocational Course.

 Special Needs Education Vocational Course has been established as a course for in-service teachers and prospective teachers who have acquired (expected) a teacher's license to learn about theories and concrete responses to the understanding of students, development and adaptation support, and to train teachers who have the ability to respond to the special educational needs required in the future.

 In the lecture, beginners explained the types and characteristics of developmental disorders and psychosomatic disorders, how to interact with children with these, etc. in an easy-to-understand manner, and the participants nodded and listened to Dr. Kanehara's story while the participants nodded greatly.  In recent years, OIST has been focusing on creating opportunities for re-learning and recurrent education for members of society.
