#Open LecturesCitizen's University Open Lecture "Scenery of Shimonoseki in the Early Modern Period" has started
On December 13, 2017 (Wednesday), a public lecture entitled "Scenery of Shimonoseki in the Early Modern Age-Reading from Painting Materials and Foreigners' Noriyuki Sanfu" was held at the I-201 Classroom of the Main Building of the University.
Professor Shinichi Sakuragi of Faculty of Economics, TUFS, talked about the prosperity of Shimonoseki, by superimposing paintings depicting Shimonoseki during the Edo period, photographs taken at the end of the Tokugawa period, and the state of Shimonoseki written by foreigners in Edo Sanfu Noriyuki and others. Many participants participated, and we received very satisfied impressions from everyone.
The open lecture in 2017 was also the last in this course. Thank you very much for taking the course. We plan to hold courses in the spring and autumn semesters next year, so we look forward to your participation.
