#Student supportTraining for new students in Department of Public Management was held.
On April 6 (Mon) to 7 (Tue), 2015, we conducted training for first-year students in Department of Public Management. (Location: Shimonoseki City Youth House)
This training was held with the aim of deepening ties between students and creating connections with seniors and faculty members through various orientations and eating together. 2nd to 4th graders from the department participated as facilitators and supported them to start university life with peace of mind.
In the orientation led by senior students, group divisions, self-introduction games, Shimonoseki City quizzes, jump ropes, drawing relays, etc. were performed. The tensions of the freshmen were relaxed, laughter was raised, and they were seen working together in each group.
A group discussion was also held to understand Osamu Gaku in Department of Public Management. The new students gathered their opinions and went to a group discussion with advice from senior students. It seems that the anxiety about studying at university in the future has also been reduced.
At the exchange meeting held after dinner, the new students eagerly listened to senior students about how to take courses, how to classes, and club activities.
In a questionnaire after the training, new students said, "It was a good opportunity to make friends." "There were a lot of group activities and exchanges, my anxiety was resolved and it was fun." There were many voices saying, "I was relieved and relieved by the consultation with senior students." Senior students also said, "I was able to realize my growth."
The spring semester class has finally started. I hope that new students will be able to enjoy a fulfilling university life with friends and senior students they have met during the training.
