#Regional surveyWe conducted a survey and hands-on tour of "Chofu Town Development"
On November 24, 2013 (Sunday), in the neighborhood of Chofu Castle Town, a total of six students, three students and three faculty members, led by the faculty in charge of the Regional Research Division at the Regional Co-creation Center, conducted a survey and experience tour of "Chofu Town Development".
Purpose of Activities
In this activity, students who are interested in community development activities such as Shimonoseki City actually walk, see, and think about the way of community development activities in Chofu, which Professor Tsuchiya has been involved in for a long time. The purpose is to provide an opportunity to learn from interviews on the activities of community development organizations and to think on the site of community development. In the future, as a next step, we aim to link students to continuously participate in actual various community development activities in Shimonoseki City.
Schedule and specific details of the day
The schedule is 13:30 University bus departure → 14:00 Arrival in Chofu, 14:00-15:00 Survey in the city (history, culture, industry, etc.), 15:00-16:00 Interview survey with "Chofu Moriage Corps / Dynamo" (local town development group), 16:00-18:30 Town survey and "Colorful castle town Nagafu / Autumn / Autumn" (Light survey", 0 Arrival survey, Autumn" (Lighted up by university", 0)
Specifically, we conducted a survey of the city and a hearing survey of the community development organization, "Dynamo-Chofu Moriage Corps". In the city survey, based on the commentary of Professor Kimura and Professor Tsuchiya, Gong Yamadera and the Chofu Museum, Meimiya Shrine, Nogi Shrine, Kakuenji, Chofu Clan Samurai Yashiki Nagaya, Nogi-dori and Hitokoi Yokomachi, etc. I surveyed and strolled around the shopping district. In the evening, we toured the “Colorful Castle Town Chofu / Autumn” (light-up), which was conducted as a community improvement project, and toured the Chofu Garden.
Remarks
The participating students this time were two third-year students and one fourth-year student, but there was no first-time student in the city of Chofu, and even if I had come, I had no experience of strolling through the city. This survey and experience tour was a good opportunity to learn about community development in Chofu, and it was a great study.
On the other hand, the `` space '' of Chofu, which encompasses multifaceted elements of society such as economy, culture, history, tourism, and community development, is a valuable learning place and site for students of Shimonoseki City University. However, it is not used very effectively for university education and community development contributions, and it is "Mottainai" as a university in Shimonoseki City. From now on, in university education, it will be an issue for the future to further increase opportunities for students to learn from community development initiatives in Chofu, Shimonoseki, and nearby municipalities.

In addition, a mailing list aimed at actively providing students interested in community development with information on community development involving community co-creation centers, etc., and linking them to actual community development activities, Shimonoseki City University Community Development Network (Community Development Net) "was launched at the Regional Co-creation Center. This activity information was also distributed as the first step in the community development network.
