[Summary of Report]

To date, Shimonoseki City University has been offering foreign language courses for the general public. However, there are questions such as the timing and level of the course, whether the content of the course really meets the needs of the students, and whether the learning results are obtained by taking the course.
In this study, we mainly relied on the city bulletin "Kagayaki", and investigated how much foreign language education services, including courses, have been provided in the Shimonoseki area in recent years. On top of that, a questionnaire was created for citizens' foreign language learners with the aim of understanding the situation and trends of the general public regarding foreign language learning (English, Chinese, and Korean) and clarifying problems. Was implemented. Based on the results of this survey, this report points out the characteristics of foreign language learners (English, Chinese, and Korean) in Shimonoseki area. And from the viewpoint of the instructor in charge, we will consider the issues of what points should be noted and improved in order to open citizen courses that meet the needs of citizens in the future.
