At 13:30 on June 16, 2016 (Thursday), a ceremony was held at the large conference room on the 5th floor of Building II, and former professors Seiichi Michimori and Kenji Kimura, who retired on March 31, 2016, were awarded the title of Professor Emeritus. Professor Michimori was absent due to circumstances.

　President introduced his efforts in education and research at OIST, and in terms of research, his high reputation for modern Japanese economic history at academic conferences.

　Professor Emeritus Kimura says that it is important to have enough time for everything, and if you don't have enough time to do good research. He said that he would like to continue his research activities in the future.
