Circle "Japan Heritage Exploration Q Meeting" conducted the third fieldwork survey on Rokuren Island.

On June 3, 2018 (Sunday), 11 members of the Japan Heritage Search Q Committee and one faculty member of the university conducted the third fieldwork survey on Rokuren Island, where one of the cultural properties of the Japanese heritage "Kanmon nostalgic Strait" in Shimonoseki City and Kitakyushu City is located.

In the first half of the survey, this time, contrary to the previous survey on May 20, we surveyed local characteristics and resources while walking around Shimauchi for about 3 hours, so while walking almost the same course, new discoveries I was able to see local resources from different perspectives. In addition, I revisited and toured the house of farmers who grow gerberas. In the latter half of the survey, six women's associations on Rokuren Island talked about the local resources of Rokuren Island and the current situation and issues of community development, and exchanged opinions. . The students were overwhelmed by the talk of active and energetic women, but gained a lot of knowledge. On the way home, I received cut flowers such as gerberas, benibana and sunflowers as souvenirs. Thank you very much.

In the future, we will visit the island again at the end of June or early July to create maps and pictorial maps of Rokurenjima, and further investigate special products such as "Hijiki rice" and the way of community development. I want to.
