The circle "Japan Heritage Exploration Q-kai" conducted a fieldwork survey on Rokuren Island, where the Rokuren Island Lighthouse is located, one of the cultural properties of the Japan Heritage "Kanmon nostalgic Strait".

One of the cultural properties of the Japanese heritage "Kanmon nostalgic Strait"-a stop at the time and memories of modernization-" which was jointly certified by Shimonoseki City and Kitakyushu City is the Rokurenjima Lighthouse, a Western-style lighthouse. On Rokuren Island, house cultivation of flowers such as gerberas, carnations and chrysanthemums is thriving, and there are historic sites such as lighthouses and the mica basalt. On May 20, 2018 (Sunday), nine members of the Japan Heritage Exploration Q Committee and one faculty member of the university boarded a Shimonoseki Municipal ferry from Takezaki Platform in Shimonoseki for about 20 minutes, and conducted a fieldwork survey with the cooperation of the staff of the Cultural Property Protection Division of Shimonoseki City Board of Education.

While walking around Shimauchi for about 3 hours, we surveyed local characteristics and resources, and we also visited farmers who grow gerberas etc. as residents' association officers to visit the house to know the know-how and current situation and issues of flower cultivation. I told you. I actually picked flowers such as gerberas and got them as souvenirs. In addition, the students listened to three members of the Neighborhood Association about the current situation and issues of Rokuren Island and the way of community development, and exchanged opinions. . I visited the island in June next month, and this time I will exchange opinions with the women's association of the residents' association.

In the future, as an activity of the Japan Heritage Exploration Q Meeting, it seems that we hope to be able to participate a little in community development on Rokuren Island by creating maps and pictorial maps of Rokuren Island with the cooperation of the residents' association. .
